Al-Qamar Gems

FAQ

Jewellery & sizing

What metal do you set in?

925 sterling silver as standard. Gold settings can be made to order — message us with what you have in mind and we will quote it.

What ring sizes do you offer?

Our moissanite rings are made to order in sizes 16 to 26. Gemstone rings are one-of-a-kind pieces made in a single size, which is shown on each listing — but most can be resized in our workshop before dispatch at no extra cost.

Can a ring be resized?

Most rings can be resized in our own workshop. Tell us your size before ordering and we will adjust it before dispatch at no extra cost. If you are unsure of your size, ask and we will talk you through measuring it properly at home.

Do you offer engraving?

Yes. Add your inscription on the product page before adding to your bag. Engraving is done by hand in our workshop and adds roughly 3–5 days. Engraved pieces are made to order, so they cannot be returned.

Can I have a loose stone set into a piece?

That is what we do best. Choose any stone from the catalogue and we will design a setting around it. Because we cut and set under one roof, the stone and the setting are made for each other rather than bought separately.

Stones & certification

Are your gemstones natural?

Yes — unless a listing explicitly says otherwise. Our sapphires, rubies, emeralds, spinels and garnets are natural stones sourced at origin. Where a stone has been treated in any way, we say so on its listing rather than leaving you to ask.

What is the difference between your Gemstone Rings and Moissanite Rings?

Gemstone Rings are built around natural stones we source at origin and cut ourselves. Each one is one of a kind.

Moissanite Rings use a lab-grown stone — brilliant, hard-wearing and a fraction of diamond pricing. We keep the two lines separate so you always know exactly which you are buying.

Do I get a certificate?

Yes — a certificate is included free with every stone. It takes around 3 days to prepare, so allow for that before dispatch.

Origin and treatment status are recorded for every stone we list.

What does “one of one” mean?

Natural stones are never identical. Each one we list is photographed, weighed and catalogued individually, and once it sells it is gone — we do not restock it. If a stone speaks to you, it is worth acting on.

Bespoke commissions

How does a commission work?

Five steps: we talk through what you want and the budget it needs to sit inside, choose or source the stone, agree a design on paper, set it by hand, then photograph and ship it. Nothing is cut until you have approved the design.

How long does a commission take?

It depends on the piece and whether the stone needs sourcing. We will give you a firm timeline before you commit to anything.

Shipping & returns

What does delivery cost, and how long does it take?

Pakistan — Rs 1,900, arriving within two weeks.
Within Karachi — free. Message us before you order and we will arrange it.
International — Rs 5,300, anywhere in the world.

Is my order insured in transit?

Yes. Everything ships tracked and insured, door to door. Stones travel sealed with their record card.

What if it is not what I expected?

Inspect it on arrival. If it does not match its listing, return it within 7 days for a full refund. Photography can never fully capture a stone, so if you want more images or a video before buying, just ask — we would rather send them than process a return.
